PROGRAMS

Specialized courses and workshops:

The specialized courses have been developed to enhance and develop the skills of all urologists at different levels of their careers, that doesn’t require a prerequisites for admission. These courses are characterized by a wide range of variability and continuous updates that matches with the recent advances in Uro-technology.

Integrated Programs:

Currently, the ASU has been structured with structured and well integrated programs, each program represents a sub-specialty in Urology (e.g. endo urology Program)

In each program there are multiple courses based on the topics within the program (e.g., in endourology program there are multiple courses e.g. prostate Course, Urolithiasis course, etc…)

Within each course there are multiple modules or workshops with different levels ( could be variable 2-4, based on the volume of the content and difficulty of the module that will be decided by the sub-specialty committees) as below: Bl: Basic Level SL: specialized Level PL: Professional Level AL: Advanced Level

Levels could be classified by not only by difficulty but also by the subcategory as well,( e.g. Medical & surgical)

Non- preferred combination:

Levels without sequences or correlation Multiple topics (with significant irrelevance) Multiple techniques (with significant irrelevance) Repeated courses in 2 different program ( it is recommended that different programs could share one module ( e.g. endourology program could share courses of endoscopic management of NMIBC with uro-oncology program)

The weight of each module should represented in credit hours The prerequisite for course enrollment should be identified The content of each module should will be well structured and coordinated with other module, altogether will provide a structured accredited course. In summary a group of modules and workshops with specific level should form a course, Multiple courses in the same specialty will form a program.
